Evaluation of methodological and reporting quality of systematic reviews on conservative non-pharmacological musculoskeletal pain management in children and adolescents: A methodological analysis

Summary of Findings Of the 17 systematic reviews included, nine (53%) were rated as “critically low”, and seven (41%) were rated as “low” methodological quality by AMSTAR-2. The least reported items were: 1) 11/17 (64.7%) did not report a protocol; 2) 8/11 (47.0%) did not explain their selection of the study designs for inclusion; 3) 14/17 (82.3%) did not report on the sources of funding for the studies included; 4) 11/17 (64.7%) did not report any potential sources of conflict of interest. The reporting quality by items from PRISMA ranged from 17.6% (95% CI 6.2 to 41) to 100% (95% CI 81.6 to 100).
