Aim To evaluate the methodological (AMSTAR-2) and reporting quality (PRISMA 2020) of systematic reviews on the efficacy and safety of yoga in treating chronic low back pain.
Level of Investigation Descriptive
Summary of Findings The overall quality of the 13 included systematic reviews (SRs) using AMSTAR-2 showed that only one was rated as high-quality, two as low quality, and the remaining 10 SRs critically low quality. These SRs had deficiencies in the following key areas: 1) 10 SRs (76.9%) did not have registered protocols; 2) only two SRs (15.3%) used comprehensive literature search strategies; 3) 12 SRs (80.0%) did not provide a list of excluded studies with reasons; 4) 5 SRs (38.4%) did not use appropriate tools to assess the risk of bias or considered risk of bias in interpretations. In the non-key items, none of the reviews explained their selection of the study designs for inclusion, only 1 review (7.67%) provided a list of excluded studies and 10 (76.9%) SRs did not report on the sources of funding for the included studies.
